£7 million building for the Institute of Mental Health at The University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus is now open.
The Institution of Mental Health is a partnership between The University of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. It aims to help transform our understanding and treatment of mental illness through innovative research and pioneering educational activities. The architects for the building were Benoy.
As part of the whole Jubilee Campus development, the Institute of Mental Health building was designed to give a calm and welcoming feeling which we were commissioned to design and develop a bespoke fountain display to create this ambience.
With a 50-meter long black lined canal of water, we created an infinity depth of pool. This simple yet high spec look would not have been fulfilled without our purpose filtration, chemical dosing and water top-up system. This dedicated plant equipment with all the designed suction and return pipework was designed and installed by Tills Innovations through their specialist water feature services.
To give extra dynamic and interest from both the approach to the building and for all those who walk past the fountains, the bespoke system designed and built by Tills Innovations has a programmable system with the fountains ramping up and down over time in either energetic or a simple wave.
To enhance the approach to this very important scientific building, Tills Innovations created the right ambience using a simple high specification bespoke water feature design with the flexibility of having a calm or energetic fountain, and with the lighting, the feature can be enjoyed at all times of the day.
