This image displays the brown patina finish on the Water Sculpture. The Specular comes in four different options across two different finishes, depending on what you decide for the bowl and the trumpet. The Specular fits nicely in boarder designs, but with its shape works beautifully in intersecting pathways in gardens.

A bespoke water feature. Looks simple but is a complex system that makes sure the customer can easily look after it.

Whilst Tills Innovations do not offer interactive fountains, the architect on this project still wanted the dry plaza fountain effect, which through careful landscape introduction, the fountains were placed and managed as decorative fountains rather than interactive to create a dramatic effect outside Rolls Royce Advanced Manufacturing Building. The plaza fountains are operated via computer controlled software within the building. The fountains move up and down to an animated sequence, which is controlled by the plant room. To look after the plaza fountains, wind control and frost control lower the height of the fountains or turn them off automatically. The bespoke control system allows the fountains to be operated and monitored remotely at Tills Innovations offices.

As part of this garden design, Tills were employed to create a bespoke mirror pool, which reflects the building, including the glass, green wall and brickwork. Stepping stones across the water give another dimension to the design, offering different angles for the mirror pool to be viewed at. Due to the way the mirror effect works means the water can be relatively shallow, providing a cost effective and safer bespoke solution.

A very tall AquaVeil which was included and delivered as part of a house renovation

Throughout our 20 years of designing garden fountains and water features we have been recognised for our specialist ability to offer a board array of skills that adapt to the spirit of the environmental impact and overall garden design. This water feature was designed for the clients grade 2 listed property and sits within garden, embellishing in a way that’s complimentary to the area and architectural merit of the listed building. Whilst we offer modern water features, we love to work with period and listed houses and gardens. It requires passion and acknowledgment to the history of a property and with it comes a story which the new pond, fountain or maybe a cascade will form part of. Most of our water features for grade 2 listed houses and gardens use aquatic filtration systems to keep the water clear, and can be used in conjunction with pond planting, such as lilies. The sides will go green but the main body of water will stay clear. Period houses and gardens require fountains to be a certain design and created with materials that age correctly in the future. The bespoke stone bowl made for this pond creates a delicate rain effect around its perimeter offering the perfect sound and movement and being stone will age beautifully over time.

This water feature offers a combination of a reflection pool and fountains, giving a dual effect. The stone inlay for the irregular pool uses different hues to provide yet another dimension to the design. The fountains can be turned off to create this commercial fountain into a large scrim, with water flowing over the surface producing reflections of the surrounding area. The large perimeter of the scrim catches the water to be processed by the bespoke water treatment system. The water feature utilises a computer controlled system within the building that animates the fountains as well as filter pressures, frost and wind control and remote access from our offices to monitor alarms and operation.

The long rill at Grantley Hall is part of a larger commercial water feature for this period hall. The stone lined rill dissects the gardens as you drive towards the halls entrance. The long rill runs alongside a pathway, which gives access to a seating area where you can sit and admire the grand hall and gardens from afar. Working with architects we have completed water features, fountains and rills for other period stately homes, including Wynyard Halls' rose garden. Grade listed houses, stately homes and halls need a different approach to our other work, requiring sympathetic designs using traditional materials. The combination of material and design acknowledges the buildings architecture but also needs to function as a water feature with the right water effect and its function as a rill must not be compromised. A technical challenge enjoyed by the team here at Tills.

The bowl water feature that was created for the luxury hotel and restaurant 'The Marquis' in Suffolk. a 2m diameter water feature based on our Specular water feature with a central sculpture and up lighting.

This garden water feature is designed using a monolithic stone structure to create the bubble fountains. Whilst our commercial fountains tend to be tall, the design of this garden stone bubble fountain creates a more modest effect with its radial patterns on the stone plateau which are subtle and complement the wider planting and softens the geometric shape of the stone water feature.

The large bespoke rill is a dominant feature within this properties garden. The rill produces a wave effect as the thin film of water flows towards the house. Due to how large the rill project was, Tills were able to include more within the design, offering the garden rill more options on its water effects, including a bespoke solution to incorporate separate fountains, which can be turned on independently, making the rill take on a different wave effect, as the fountains dance and create unique patterns.

A fresh approach to the traditional bespoke stainless steel water walls. This bespoke design uses coloured steel with a mirror finish to give depth to the water wall effect. Other colours are available to suit the garden design and is suitable for relatively large water walls, after which we offer other bespoke designs with materials that are suitable for gardens but can create larger water walls in one piece . The mirror pool using black dye gives depth to the water and utilising a filtration and skimmer system, reflections of the sky, garden and surrounding area create this beautiful combination of water wall and mirror pool. The maintenance on this design is perfect for gardens, as the black dye design can be used for lots of slightly different bespoke features, with one of the least maintenance regimes, albeit are only suitable for residential outdoor gardens. If you have a contemporary water wall design aspiration or bespoke water wall requirement then this is a good solution all round.

We love koi ponds, in fact both of the owners of Tills have them in our own gardens! Whilst we say no koi pond is maintenance free, if your looking to have a large contemporary koi pond then the filtration system options that are viable increase. One of which was fitted on this large pond and was a great success. A cleaver system with intelligent monitoring cleans itself when it gets too dirty, meaning operator input is very small. With any koi pond there will be seasonable work, such as UV lamp cleaning and replacing as well as servicing some equipment, but the day to day tasks are minimal. This was a big koi pond and the filtration system fitted was remote to keep the design clean. Considering how large the koi pond is the advanced automatic self clean filtration system made it relatively small. Aside from all the mechanical and biological equipment that looks after a koi pond, the koi themselves are prone to diseases and the water needs to be kept in check and this must be done regardless of how good the pond filter system is. We offer specialist advise but also have an outstanding circle of companies that support us on pond systems and for clients going forward to look after their fish and water chemistry.

Grantley Hall is a boutique hotel and restaurant. Tills were proud to be part of the development process to deliver these amazing traditional design fountains. The gardens were designed by Alistair Baldwin Associates, which encompasses a long rill and octagonal pool with arching fountains.

This contemporary rill water feature is part of a property development in London. The communal garden designed by a well regarded designer incorporates a long rill with a bridge to link the garden and with a fountain chute at one end. The contemporary water feature has a black tiled lining and a bespoke stainless steel water blade in a brushed finish set within the stone surround. The same stone was used to create a coping edge. The stone edging defines the rill and at the same time has an important function of limiting debris blowing across the ground and into the rill. Important considerations for Rill Water Features - please read An important consideration which our customers do not always appreciate at first glance is the complexity of what appears to be a simple water feature. It is quite often the simpler looking the water feature or fountain the more complex the design and engineering needs to be. It's the simplicity of this water feature that makes it look so striking, a simple pool of water with a chute at one end. Filling the pool with water on the first day it will look fantastic, the difficulty is maintaining this simple look. The pool needs to be crystal clear, sides and bottom of the pool need to stay clean with no algea, the surface of the water needs to be perfectly clean and polished to have the reflective quality, the bottom of the pool to have no or little debris in the bottom and to be kept full of water. Without these the pool that looks great when first filled with water will end up looking like a green sides pond with debris on the bottom and debris floating on the top. To maintain the look of the rill when it's first filled is where Tills Innovations as water feature specialists excel. We installed on this project a bespoke water conditioning system which in essence looks after the rill as if it was a swimming pool as this is basically what the rill needs to look like. The system is a tailored design which we have created and has many benefits without having the cost of a swimming pool system. The rill and chute water feature looks as good today as it did when first fitted.

One of the most ambitious undertakings by Tills Innovations Ltd. An extensive redevelopment programme by Nottingham University to create an impressive amphitheatre with cascades and animated fountains on a hill side was delivered by Tills. The design incorporates many of the hybrid fountain technologies used in the more complex water features of today, including animated fountain control, wind speed fountain height control, frost protection as well as system alarms and shutdowns for pumps, chemicals and filter systems. All of this was controlled and monitored remotely from Tills innovations Offices. One of the more unique challenges was the commercial fountains required a nozzle that could draw in air to the underside for both the aesthetic as well as for practical reasons of splash. Fine in a pool but on this scheme where everything had to be flush, so it could be turned into seating when switched off, made the air delivery a design challenge which was overcome with success. All of this was relatively straight forward for Tills Innovations who has over 20-year experience in designing and installing commercial fountains and cascades, but it was the hill side that stretched their knowledge and expertise. Although it would be possible to have a pump for every fountain, this was not a practical or a neat option for Tills, who wanted to use high spec swimming pool pumps, with as little equipment to maintain as possible. The answer required only 6 fountain / cascade pumps rather than 18 and all the equipment was mounted remotely for easy access. The triumph was the programmable logic system that ran the animation so all the fountain heights animated together with different head pressures and flow rates but with a few values changes the animation could easily be changed.

Based on the dry plaza fountain design, this black granite monolithic fountain has been created by water feature specialist Tills Innovations. The multiple fountain design is situated at the University of Nottingham in an open space area enjoyed by academics and the public as they stroll by. The design of the commercial fountains uses both natural stone and water movement to enhance the Chinese study building beside. As an alternative to mirror or reflection pools, the fountain design has a number of simple bubbling fountains, each of which create beautiful concentric circles of rippling water, merging and competing one another. The solid structure gives the fountain a bold presence and to embrace this the fountain design has an infinity water wall effect around the outside. As part of our complete water feature and fountain services we carry out a maintenance contract on the fountains.

Tills specialise in large water walls and this Riven Stone Water Wall within a garden setting is a good example. Each of the water walls are bespoke, so we do not have any standard size or designs, although our customers tend to look over our gallery and ask for a water wall that's based on a design done before, but to a bespoke water wall size. The stone used for this large riven water wall had a very contemporary design, with a machined finish making it very uniform. The black stone was set off with rustic corten steel sides. Due to the complexity of large water walls, this project was completely designed by Tills Innovations, including the baffle injection system and the pumping system for the water wall wall. Installation was also completed by Tills, with the builders working carried out by the main contractor.

Bespoke stone water walls provide an organic feel to a water feature with their natural material, especially if riven slate is used. Perfect in garden settings. Using the brick formation with detailed workmanship on site gives this water feature energy with white water but control. That said white water means its becoming uncontrollable so the reservoir at the base of the wall needs to be carefully considered to capture the water. Using our baffle injection system we are able to introduce the water correctly onto the face of the wall. The sides and top of the water wall is framed in stainless steel with a black coating to give definition.

An interesting building within the garden of this property, it offers water elements on lots of levels. Tills innovations were employed to create a bespoke copper water wall for the garden design. As copper was used for the roof and other elements, a bespoke copper water wall was integrated into the brick wall to complement the roof adding a modern feel to the garden.

This residential water feature has multiple effects. With a black lined pool and a bespoke surface skimmer system, the reflections and depth of water produces a very clean back drop to the other effects being produced, including fountains and water falls. Due to the simple contemporary design is was imperative that the water feature had a comprehensive water treatment system, which in this case was taken from our knowledge and experience in commercial water features and fountains. Adding a reflection pool to crematoria brings tranquillity and peacefulness to an environment that can be distressing for those attending. This commercial reflection pool was designed and installed as part of the remembrance court, which along with two rills formed an important structure and welcoming feeling to the area. One offering a rippling water effect, whilst the other being the reflection pool.

Each of the bronze water sculptures have a trumpet in the centre that the water spills over, creating the mirror effect, The patina of the trumpet ages over time as due to being underwater transforms differently to the bronze bowl.

Cascade fountains offer dramatic effects in commercial designs. The cleaver fountain technology produces lots of aerated water to create large fountains which are dense with air so you can see them from far away, but also pulse up and down to display a dynamic and energetic look. The two pools with fountains offer a welcoming feel as you approach the entrance to the building. The plant room is separate to the water feature and looks after the water treatment as well as the fountains effects.

The black mirror pool is all about the reflections. Sometimes a water feature is not about being dynamic with energy but simply to reflect its environment. This is exactly what this water feature does. The mirror pool design sits in residential development and has the surface skimmed to remove all debris creating the mirror effect. A specific filter system and black dye creates the ever cleaning black mirror. The combination of mirror surface and black dye is to give depth, reflecting its surroundings and maintaining a minimalistic design. The way the system is designed means it produces the same quality effect from the first day it was commissioned for ever more. Classical, elegant and understated.

These outdoor fountains are designed as part of a scrim water effect. The fountains dance down the length with each having their own lighting. As the water flows down the scrim, which is a thin film of water, it creates waves and patterns. The perimeter has its own lighting system to light up the scrim effect if the outdoor fountains are turned off. A dramatic feature within the garden which can be enjoyed by day and night. The fountains and scrim are independent to one another, enabling different water feature effects to be created. These designs with shallow water are a good consideration when thinking of health and safety / drowning. That said it should be noted that all of tills outdoor fountains are designed to be decorative and not interactive. Like several the designs that Tills have delivered, this particular feature has more than one effect, each of which can be controlled individually. This provides the client with different options depending on how the space is being used. The water being introduced in a certain way creates an interesting wave effect as it flows down the scrim, all subtle whilst sitting quietly in the surrounding space. For those times when a party is taking place or just simply a more energetic effect is required, fountains down the centre can be turned on which with lighting creates a dramatic effect. The fountains interestingly interact with the flow of the scrim creating additional patterns in the water.

This picture of a stone wall water feature, is one of many different wall mounted designs Tills have created over the last 20 years. Wall water features are particularly good when you would like interest in a garden, but need a water feature which does not take up much room but has a nice water effect and sound. Wall water features need to be wall mounted, meaning a brick or block work wall is required for the water wall to be mounted onto. With stone wall water features this becomes even more integral to the design, due to the weight of both the stone and the water wall sub structure. We advise on all wall water features to be installed outside due to the splash and size of reservoir required, especially with stone wall water features. We do have an indoor water wall called The AquaVeil®, and this can be seen on the AquaVeil website, (link at the bottom of this page). The stone used for this water wall had a very contemporary design, with a machined finish making a very uniform design. The black stone was set off with the more organic corten steel sides. Installation was also completed by Tills, with the builders working carried out by the main contractor.

The stone monolithic structure was designed with multiple fountains and a moat around the base. The simple contemporary design works with the old property and sits as a focal point as you approach the house. The water feature with its fountains is around 10m long, the fountains create radial waves of water and then the water spills over the edge of the monolithic structure into the moat around the base. As part of the clients brief the water feature needed to be safe for their horses to come into contact with. Out normal practice with these sorts of fountains would be to implement a chemical dosing system but this could not be considered for this project. Instead a uv sterilisation and filtration system was utilised with all the other benefits of water top up and skimmers and the requires balancing tank to operate the fountains.

This modern contemporary water feature plays on our Volute Water Feature, where the spinning vortex creates a whirlpool effect on the surface. This design is probably the most unique and modern water feature design Tills has ever created and makes a stunning focal point in any garden. The design uses light and movement to show the reflections of the whirlpool, depicting a black hole, as if water is pouring into the ground. The vortex water feature can be made in various sizes from very small to very large due to its bespoke nature. The water feature is designed for residential gardens and is not suitable for commercial applications. The use of the black dye and the cleaver water movement system is simple yet very effective and easy to maintain. If your after a modern contemporary water feature then this vortex design will certainly make a talking point in any garden!

An understated water feature, where the reflections produced of the higher scenery create a calm feeling. The ever cleaning effect works well in light wells when there is enough room for the equipment, (situated down the side of the water feature in the image). The use of mirrors around the area expand the effect and its dominance in the design.

Whilst a rill can bring interest with sound and movement to a landscape, in certain situations they have a different effect on human emotions, by bringing tranquillity and calm. For crematoriums and cemeteries rills have this influence both during when services are being carried out and for those loved ones who return. This particular landscape design incorporates two commercial rills that dissect the area to provide a guided route through the crematorium.

The garden which is part of a larger dream of Sir John Hall who owns Wynyard Hall was designed by multi award winning RHS architect Alistair Baldwin. As the water element in the garden is very significant and forms an integral part of the design, a water feature specialist was needed to realise what was on paper. With multiple pools, fountains and different levels, the required knowledge of creating a large scale commercial water features with all the experience of water conditioning systems and fountain hydraulics was required. Tills Innovations Ltd were the preferred choice. Working from the outset with both the architect and the landscaper, Swinburne Horticultural Services the water features were created. More details will be added to the site as a case study in the future.

Tills innovations have carried out designing and installing a number of commercial pools and fountains for crematoriums and cemeteries. This particular design being for Dignity The CMG. Through the number of commercial pools and fountain projects Tills innovations have been involved with has enabled them to gain a broad understanding of both the sensitive nature of these projects and the important key aspects of fountain design to suit the landscape as well as building architecture. This particular commercial design being two curved pools with fountains. A particular challenge was the undulating landscape, which has restrictions on what could be reprofiled due to existing burials. The plant equipment housing was sensitively blended into the overall landscape design, without compromising the maintenance needed to look after the fountains.

Commercial stainless steel water wall This large stainless steel water wall was designed, manufactured and installed by water feature specialist Tills Innovations. The corporate headquarters had in total four bespoke features which were all created and installed by Tills. This particular design which was 4m tall x 6m wide had 3d lettering stood off the front surface. The way in which it was fitted meant that the words looked like they were levitating over the water movement. The plant system was designed to be remote from the water feature (15m away) and has our tailored water conditioning system. The fountain pump system is run on an programable inverter which gives the precise water flow required, energy efficiency and works in harmony with our water injection system. Our design has evolved over many years to create a rolling wave of water down the water wall. This effect is significantly different to simply pouring water over a surface. This water feature is totally mesmerising and a welcoming feature to the entrance of the company.

Tills Innovations have been designing and delivering many water features and fountains for Nottingham University, of which this is one at a campus on the outskirts of Nottingham. The water feature has a dedicated plant water treatment system with easy access for maintenance. The specific nozzles used on this project enable the fountains to dance up and down due to the water level dependant design

Large Bespoke Commercial Glass Water Wall The Glass Water Wall was designed and installed by Tills Innovations and stands outside the Portland Hospital for Women & Children in London. This particular water feature can be seen by the public as its stands on the side of the road in Great Portland Street London. If you wish to see some of our work this is a good place to start. The water feature was created using brushed stainless steel framing and a large glass panel with the brand enforcement of this prestigious hospital. The walls logo was carried out by Tills Innovations as part of the installation. The steel framing utilizes our proven baffle injection technology to create the rolling wave of water. Lights sit at the base of the water wall and wash up the surface. The water feature was installed as part of the hospital entrance make over which incorporates our water conditioning system. The water is treated with bromine, has an automatic water top up system and filtration. Originally installed in 2010 we have continued to carry out a maintenance contract ensuring it provides the great back drop for photographs as it did when first turned on.

The fountains installed on this project are part of a larger water feature. This part being a large pool with multiple fountains, all operating at different heights. The fountains are operated to dance with the cascade on the lower part of the water feature setting. All fountains are controlled by PLC and are monitored at our offices for various alarms as well as guidance for the onsite team.

This bespoke stone water wall created a beautiful addition to the garden design. Working with Lizzie Tulip Garden Designs, Tills designed a combination water feature, utilising a bespoke stone water wall, chute and lower mirror pool, which integrated into the terraced garden. The stone water wall was achieved with a bespoke free standing design, although we advocate where we can to design water walls to go up against a structural wall, when either inside or outside. The water rippling down the stone water wall gives the effect of a water fall with both sound and movement. Adding to this design and enforcing its contemporary feel, a water chute and lower pool was designed and installed. The rill creates a ripple pattern as the water flows down with a chute at the end providing another effect.

Tills Innovations have designed and installed a number of water features and fountains for cemetery and crematorium developments. Adding water features to crematoriums, especially the tranquil reflection pools and mirror pools are a beautiful addition to the design. This particular water feature was part of an extension to East London Cemetery for client Dignity, included both a water sculpture as well as a pool with fountains. The commercial water feature had all the plant equipment, including the water treatment and fountain pumps remote to the water feature, which is important for the minimalistic design for the area. Tills innovations have completed other water features for Guilford Crematorium. This development included a large reflection pool and two long rills. The rills had lighting for evening services. Tills have provided other water feature proposals on further developments for dignity.

This fountain for a private client in London has different elements to it design. Some of which are to give more depth to the composed piece and others for functionality. The water feature uses natural slate as the chosen material with multiple fountains. The fountains are small and controlled whilst giving a little drama to the overall effect. Subtle concentric waves of water emulate from the fountain give another dimension. As a third effect the water runs over the entire surface of the stone and disappears to create an infinity appearance and shimmers down the long side connecting the two levels of the garden. To fully connect the two areas of the garden, one of the stones has no water running on it and provides a stepping stone transition.

This modern water feature design, creates a mesmerising vortex, giving the illusion that water is disappearing into the ground. Designed for residential properties, this water feature uses a black dye and is relatively easy to look after. The design was taken from another modern water feature designed by Tills, the Volute Water Feature, although this can be created in different sizes to suit your garden.

Globe Water Features The Globe water feature at AV trades new headquarters is an impressive bold statement to its growing success. The large 3m diameter fountain globe brings their brand logo to a three dimensional shape. The metallic paint perfectly matches the brand and with the rippling water over the surface catches your eye as you head toward the entrance. The Unique bespoke piece was created in 8 sections and bolted together on the inside of the globe. The water creates a small fountain on the top of the sphere and then ripples over the surface to the bottom. The water falls off the base to give some white water and sound as its falls into the pool. The lighting around the base lights up the water and the metallic blue paint. The while and grey graphic is also picked out over the surface with the lighting effect. The water feature installation has one of our water conditioning systems that ensure the water quality is maintained, including chemical dosing, filtration and automatic water top up.

A big bespoke water sculpture forms part of this waterscape. Working in collaboration with GF Tomlinson, a pond with sculptural spire was created. The pond having a durable GRP lining system, with a black finish to showcase the water sculpture, whilst giving the appearance of depth to the water. The water quality being looked after by a bespoke system made up of a bank of UV sterilisers and Air pumps with diffuses. With no aerosols being part of the design and with additional aquatic planting, the result showcased this water sculpture at its best and was a great success.

This bespoke indoor water wall is over 7m tall and is built into the fabric of the property for a more integrated look. You see the water feature as you enter the house at ground level, with the water flowing creating ripple patterns as it flows with you walking down the stairs, through the different levels of the house, right down to the basement level. Tills innovations created this large stream for holiday company Bourne Leisure. The design incorporates a 70m long stream which starts with a large waterfall and then flows down through the complex. Pools at various points down the stream slow the water flow and give reflection. Water falls and cascades are incorporated down the length of the stream before entering the large pond through another waterfall.

A multi featured water feature which utilises a stone water wall, water chute and pool. Each element providing a different water effect. The textured stone of the waterfall agitates the water to provide movement and sound. The short rill creates patterns as it flows over the surface, before a water chute offers structure as the water sheet enters the pool. The pool is designed to be still and tranquil. A water treatment system looks after the water to keep everything clean and clear.

The contemporary S shape water feature, moves the water over its surface, creating an eye catching effect as the water appears to defy gravity by flowing back on itself. The strong shape adds to the effect turning the bespoke water feature into a sculpture for your garden or landscape.

These driveway fountains were designed by Water Feature Specialists Tills Innovations in conjunction with sculptor Harry Gray. The unique piece sits on the driveway of a client in Cambridgeshire. The eye catching fountains and the sound draws you to the entrance of this fabulous Grade II listed property. The client is a devoted cricket player and was keen to exploit his love of the sport within this water sculpture. The overall sculpture is dominate within the drive but the reference to the sport is subtle yet comical with the cricket stumps produced by fountains at each end of the feature. The fountains are simple and produce glass like columns of water that dance in a shallow pool of water. The fountains are created with solid brass nozzles that only just sit above the water line ensuring the water takes full effect. Two types of stone was used by Harry Gray to create the stone sculpture. Dark slate was carved in sections to produce a shallow pool of water that the fountains danced within. This pool once full of water flowed over an infinity edge into a concealed pool below. The water element was then framed in the bold Portland stone around the outside. The partnership between Tills as the water feature specialists and Harry Gray as the sculptor meant everyone worked very closely to bring the whole water feature together. As part of the fountain conditioning a remote plant chamber outside the drive way was created that housed the pumps, filtration, water top up and UV sterilisation. Tills carry out service contracts on water features and fountains where the client requires and was provided with this particular water sculpture.

Based on recycling, this show garden has a creation which is very unique. 204 wine bottles are installed and through careful design appear to look like water is pouring out of all of them into the pool below.

As can be seen, glass has a wonderful way of displaying the movement of water. Thin films of water create radial patterns on the glass sculpture, where they fall in multiple droplets of into the pool below. With glass sculptures like this, minimal water is required which reduces splash, an important consideration with indoor water features. The drawback with glass is that the sculpture tends to be expensive to design and create, due to the way glass is clear and difficult to interface with other materials, which are required for the delivery of water. The other important consideration is that they must be kept incredibly clean to look perfect, which is why we design and install special water treatment systems, but due to their cost tend only be suited to commercial water features and sculptures.

Our bespoke water features offer many different designs and materials. In some situations size matters and there are lots of considerations. With tall fountains, the wind can catch them and blow outside the pool. To maintain a tall water feature and reduce wind effect, we use structures. The water rippling down the tall water feature fulfils a dramatic effect with more control of the water.

Our bespoke water walls are designed and made with a range of materials, this being a simple stainless steel version. The image capturing the way you can integrate our water walls into structures such as this white framed wall. Built in block work, rendered and painted white it gives definition and more structure to the water feature. This particular water feature has a remote plant system to condition the water and keep it topped up with water. This is not mandatory but for those that want a more automatic system, this works well with our service packages.

Custom made commercial water wall with fountains The bespoke water feature was designed as a free standing unit for the garden. A prestigious housing development in London where the stainless steel water wall was installed for their show home entrance. Working with a landscaper / designer, water feature specialists Tills Innovations created the commercial water feature. Due to the quick turn around required the water feature and fountains were engineered and built off site and then installed on site in a very tight time frame. The bespoke made water wall has water running down the front and back of the stainless steel wall for dual aspect. To gain additional focal interest and branding of the development the water wall has a sleek black logo and 3D stainless steel shield. For increased impact the water wall has two commercial style aerated fountains. The pump system for the water feature has level switches for low level protection.

These large commercial water walls were created as a bespoke design for the Caledonian University in Glasgow. The original design intent given to Tills Innovations was for the water walls to be one even larger bespoke water wall. This concept can be over powering in some situations and having two albeit still large walls can gives commercial water walls more interest and a better overall focal point. Each of the two large water walls are custom made to 3.8m wide x 2m high and have an led lighting system operated by a DMX controller. The lighting system washes up the wall and picks out the rolling wave of water down the water wall. The two large water walls sit in one common bespoke reservoir that has filtration, water top up and a manual chemical dosing, although automated chemical dosing is normally taken for our commercial applications. Large commercial water walls have been used for a number of years and for good reason. They provide a fantastic way of taking water and producing stunning effects. With a large size they make a bold statement inside or outside for corporate companies, business entrances to prestigious housing and apartment developments.

A statement water feature for the entrance to the Grand Jersey Hotel. This free standing commercial water wall has the logo on the front for brand identification. The rippling water, as it flows down the wall catches your eye as you stroll past, giving the hotel a sense of quality and individuality.

Introducing water walls into swimming pool environments adds interest and movement to bring the area alive The use of stainless steel in the particular design is durable and can be offered in various bespoke sizes. This particular water feature has colour changing RGB lighting to offer a more striking effect. The water feature is self contained, but also has an automatic water top up system to keep the water wall full of water, combating evaporation.

This wall mounted water feature is designed and installed with an integrated look. The render and wall finishes come up to the side of the water wall giving the recessed look. The wall water feature is bespoke to your custom size.

This animated water feature design incorporates many different effects and water scapes, including animated fountains, pools and cascades, all of which requires a hybrid fountain technology, which is used in the more complex water features of today, including animated fountain control, wind speed control, frost protection and alarms for shutdown of pumps, chemicals and filter systems. The whole water feature can be controlled and monitored remotely from Tills innovations Offices.

A stone water wall with a difference. The client on this project came to us with the wish of a seat that could turn into a water feature. Not a request we have had before but is the type of project we specialise in. The design needed to be such that it appeared to be an interesting retaining wall that acted as a bench but could also turn into a water feature. To create this we manufactured bespoke stainless steel systems that were housed within the stone at the top of the wall and catchment tanks that sat at the base. A balancing tank with filtration was fitted to polish the water. The stone system used was a brick effect which made an interesting sound as the water trickled down the surface. With any textured stone you will have splash so the paved area in front of the water wall had a fall back towards the base catchment tank. The stone coping was made in slate to set off the brick style wall.

The style of fountain nozzles available are varied, and this picture shows one of the more unique. This commercial water feature is situated next to an outside eating terrace, which using a number of the fan nozzles produces a sense of waves flowing out from a centre source. Being low level these fountain styles offer better wind control than high fountains which would need to be implemented to offer the same level of dominance.

A bespoke stainless steel water wall, which was designed for a small courtyard for the university. The grade II listed wall gives a lovely contrast to the sleek design of the water feature, which through the water delivery provides a rolling wave of water over the surface.

Commercial stainless steel water wall This large stainless steel water wall was designed, manufactured and installed by water feature specialist Tills Innovations. The corporate headquarters had in total four bespoke features which were all created and installed by Tills. This particular design which was 4m tall x 6m wide had 3d lettering stood off the front surface. The way in which it was fitted meant that the words looked like they were levitating over the water movement. The plant system was designed to be remote from the water feature (15m away) and has our tailored water conditioning system. The fountain pump system is run on an programable inverter which gives the precise water flow required, energy efficiency and works in harmony with our water injection system. Our design has evolved over many years to create a rolling wave of water down the water wall. This effect is significantly different to simply pouring water over a surface. This water feature is totally mesmerising and a welcoming feature to the entrance of the company.

The bespoke stainless steel water feature stands outside the entrance of the company to greet customers and provide brand awareness. The logo on the water feature is created by a 3D effect of the 'G' standing off the face of the water awl and the Giles being in a flat logo. The wave design gives more interest as the water flows back on itself, creating a ripple water effect.

A textured surface to the stone gives a very subtle water effect. In sunlight and especially at an angle the water effect is picked out as it flows down the wall. This design uses our wall mounted solution where the water wall is bolted to the building. All our stone water walls are designed this way due to weight and stability requirements.

This contemporary rill water feature is part of a property development in London. The communal garden designed by a well regarded designer incorporates a long rill with a bridge to link the garden and with a fountain chute at one end. The contemporary water feature has a black tiled lining and a bespoke stainless steel water blade in a brushed finish set within the stone surround. The same stone was used to create a coping edge. The stone edging defines the rill and at the same time has an important function of limiting debris blowing across the ground and into the rill. Important considerations for Rill Water Features - please read An important consideration which our customers do not always appreciate at first glance is the complexity of what appears to be a simple water feature. It is quite often the simpler looking the water feature or fountain the more complex the design and engineering needs to be. It's the simplicity of this water feature that makes it look so striking, a simple pool of water with a chute at one end. Filling the pool with water on the first day it will look fantastic, the difficulty is maintaining this simple look. The pool needs to be crystal clear, sides and bottom of the pool need to stay clean with no algea, the surface of the water needs to be perfectly clean and polished to have the reflective quality, the bottom of the pool to have no or little debris in the bottom and to be kept full of water. Without these the pool that looks great when first filled with water will end up looking like a green sides pond with debris on the bottom and debris floating on the top. To maintain the look of the rill when it's first filled is where Tills Innovations as water feature specialists excel. We installed on this project a bespoke water conditioning system which in essence looks after the rill as if it was a swimming pool as this is basically what the rill needs to look like. The system is a tailored design which we have created and has many benefits without having the cost of a swimming pool system. The show home called for a stainless steel water wall with colour changing lighting. The water flows over the surface to give water patterns, while the colour changing up lighting enhances the water effect. Tills offer these designs for both commercial and residential installations, both inside properties and within gardens.

A water chute built into a planter gives structure to a garden, whilst offering planting to soften the design. The open pool of water collects the water for recycling through the water chute. Water works with other planting systems such as living walls and planting walls.

Streams bring a wonderful dimension to gardens and landscapes. Bringing a feel of nature into either residential or commercial spaces they create view points and multiple interest as they carve through the ground with both the stone structure and as the water ebbs and flows over the surface of the rocks. The stream brings a source of food and water for birds and animals that enter the garden. If designed correctly, and given time, they can look like they are natural formations and not built by mankind.

A very effective water feature. The mirror pool, sometimes referred to as an infinity pool is very simple in design, which in the right design is the perfect choice. A minimalistic design can demand more detailed engineering to look at its best, both in its overall appearance and consideration of maintenance. With less dynamics to the water feature, i.e. no fountains, expanses of textured material you require a design that has nothing but water. This design has the beauty of both. One mode had small ripple fountains and the other was a still mirror effect. The key to creating this effect to the highest detail is having an infinity edge all around the outside to skim and polish the water, a unique black dye is added to give depth to the water. Not being able to see through the water, your eyes are focused on the surface reflection which will pick out the surrounding landscape. The polishing of the water which removes all the dust and pollen adding to this impressive design. As with all of Tills innovations designs, consideration to maintenance is very important. Your only half way through the design when you have an engineered solution which creates the effect you’re after. Its the engineering that offers easy maintenance that’s important. Only too often you see nice water features which look good when turned on for the first time but is not manageable for the long term. Engineering a design that has easy maintenance without compromising the overall look is where the challenge really begins. Its this skill that makes Tills innovations stand out as the preferred choice with many of our clients.

Living walls and planting walls look great when used with water features. The canvas of planting brings a sense of nature, which is wrapped around the water feature. Water chutes provide an element of waterfall effects, whilst water walls offer a more integrated look and work perfectly with living walls.

Commercial water feature in public realm. A single fountain providing water effects by day and night. The fountain is operated and water conditioned within a plant room under the fountain. The courtyard is a relaxing area for those passing with seating next to the water feature.

The water sculpture has a carved stone bowl where water emanates from within and flows over the outside, creating a gentle effect and subtle sound. The centre has a bowl in stainless steel.

A commercially built water fall and stream, this project was for a holiday complex where the outside space had a stream running through the complex, giving lots of interest with large rocks and boulders with water falls and water flow. The water feature comprised of a large pond and water fall at the end which bridges to give standpoints at different places throughout the complex. An important part of the landscape, bringing the whole design together.

Building a natural stream requires hydraulic knowledge and engineering capabilities to make the system work. A water feature specialist can apply this whilst at the same time creating a natural looking stream. If designed correctly the stream can look like its part of the garden or landscape and not man-made. The water flowing adds a significant and dominant part to the overall look and feel of the area.

We can offer The Specular as a bespoke water feature, which in this image has been made to sit within a pond. The sculptures base is disguised by painting the stand black, which also conceals the pump and pipework system. It simply needs bolting down within the pond.

Adding interest to the garden design, this waterfall and rill was set on a curve. The water wall being a traditional design, but the rill being set on a curve embellishes the spirit of the gardens lines. The water flowing through the rill catches your eye and enforces the shape of the curve providing an important feel to the garden design.
