The AquaVeil had already proved highly successful in both residential and commercial settings, but we wanted to develop a water wall with a different character.
The aim was to create a darker, more solid-looking surface, a more compact reservoir and a choice of water patterns that could work particularly well where space or splash control was even more important.
The challenge was to create something genuinely different while retaining the quality, engineering and ease of ownership associated with Tills water features.
Irus was developed as a Tills water wall design that can be manufactured to bespoke dimensions.
Its frame and water delivery system draw on our experience developing the AquaVeil, while a specially selected textured surface creates distinctive flowing water patterns with a very different appearance.
Clients can specify the width and height, choose their preferred water patterns and select the frame colour, allowing Irus to be tailored to its setting while retaining an established underlying design.
Its compact reservoir and controlled water movement also make Irus particularly suitable where space and splash need careful consideration.
The textured surface of Irus creates a choice of distinctive water patterns. A single pattern can be used across the whole water wall, or different patterns can be combined to create greater variation in the movement and appearance of the water.
The dark surface provides a strong backdrop that helps emphasise the flowing water, while alternative colours and frame finishes provide further flexibility to suit different settings.
Irus also creates a gentle, relaxing sound, with subtle differences according to the chosen water pattern. Integrated lighting brings the moving water to life after dark and also enhances the texture and movement during the day.
One of the key practical advantages of Irus is its controlled water movement. With the appropriate water pattern, splash can be reduced, allowing a more compact reservoir than would otherwise be required. This makes Irus particularly useful where available floor space is limited, including interior applications.
